FAYETTEVILLE -- The Dogwood Festival is set to bloom this weekend in Fayetteville. Now in its 26th year, officials at the festival are promising this year’s event will be the biggest and best yet.
It’s the second time the event will be held at Festival Park. Last year, organizers said the festival attracted more than 140,000 people.
That led to parking woes, but officials said they addressed that problem this year with off-site parking and a shuttle service. They also designated an area for handicapped parking.
In addition to the more than 100 arts, crafts and food vendors, the Dogwood Festival will have live music, headlined by Eddie Money on opening night and followed up with a free concert by Vanessa Carlton.
Events kick off Friday night with a Bloom and Boom party that will end with a fireworks display.
The festival lasts throughout the weekend.
