Attorney General Roy Cooper
GASTONIA, N.C. -- Attorney General Roy Cooper and the North Carolina Press Association plan to talk to local officials meeting in Gastonia about open government rules.
The session Tuesday is the first regional training meeting based on a booklet the press association and attorney general's office have produced for local governments.
The press association said 51 officials from several counties were expected to attend.
Cooper will address the session before the formal training begins.
Beth Grace with the press association said the training includes various scenarios public officials face and how to properly deal with them.
Officials will also get the new booklet explaining open meeting and public records access rules.
