GREENSBORO -- After months of construction and weeks of delays, former NFL star Ricky Proehl's Proehlific Park Sports Complex quietly opened its doors for the first time Monday.
The 60,000-square-foot facility features baseball, lacrosse and soccer fields.
The former Panthers receiver says the complex will provide a safe and fun place for children to gather.
“I often tell people that being in a locker room with a Kurt Warner, a Marshall Faulk or a Torry Holt, when you’re around those kinds of people; all you can do is get better, and I think when you’re in that kind of environment, that kind of attitude, it's contagious,” Proehl said. “And that's what we hope to build at Proehlific Park is a contagious attitude that's positive, that's built around teamwork, integrity and respect.”
