Maj. Mike Plummer, with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office, who was called in to support Mint Hill police, says officers were trying to serve a domestic violence order on the suspect at the home on Dartford Lane.

The order is to evict him from the premises and to stay away but the suspect did not want to be served with the warrant, so he barricaded himself inside the house and told officers he has weapons.

Officers are trying to negotiate the situation to a peaceful conclusion.
