FAYETTEVILLE -- A Fort Bragg soldier and his infant son were injured Thursday night in a head-on crash involving a suspected drunken driver.

Police say 31-year-old Bobby Burnette was driving on Ramsey Street in Fayetteville around 11:30 p.m. when he crossed the median and struck 23-year-old Joseph Randle's car head-on.

Randle, a soldier at Fort Bragg, and his 8-month-old son were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Burnette went to UNC Hospitals, where he is in critical condition. Officers say he faces charges of reckless driving and driving while impaired.
