The recently-released report shows that Young and Wagstaff were killed before the house was set on fire. Young’s hands were handcuffed behind him, he had been shot once in the stomach and his throat was slit. Wagstaff had been stabbed several times, and her throat had been slashed.
As for Hines, who also lived at the home, she had been gagged and shot in the head and back.
There is a nation-wide search for a person of interest. “His picture has been out there for several months and we've been working with America's Most Wanted too,” explained Officer Jean Wassenaar of CMPD. “They did a story about it. We're still trying to get it out nationally at this point."
The house was torn down on Monday, and the neighbors hope they can move on. "The neighborhood is happy that the house is being torn down,” said Pettus. “I mean it was an eye sore, and it was a grim reminder of what happened, so I think that's the first step in moving forward."
America’s Most Wanted also profiled the triple murder in a recent episode. If you have any information in this case, you are asked to call police.
