Christopher Lee Daniels and Christina Elaine Courtner
WINSTON SALEM -- Forsyth County Sheriff’s deputies say they have arrested the mother and father of the infant taken to a Winston-Salem emergency room for severe injuries.

The child, who is less than a month old, was rushed to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center on Monday to be treated for broken bones and bruises.

The child’s parents, 20-year-old Christopher Lee Daniels and 20-year-old Christina Elaine Courtner of Walkertown were arrested Thursday and charged with felony child abuse. They are both being held at the Forsyth County detention center on $500,000 bonds.

They are scheduled to appear in court on August 29.
