Lots of folks are hitting the road today, and if your travel plans take you around the Carolinas, you will have no problems today with lots of sunshine. Here in the Piedmont, our highs will mainly be in the mid to upper 80s.
For those heading out of town, there will be some showers and storms today in the New England states as well as the High Plains and down in Florida.
For the Fourth tomorrow, we will see morning sunshine with some clouds rolling in during the afternoon. Highs should top out in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees in most spots.
I think we should stay dry through the evening hours, so we should be able to get those fireworks displays off OK. However, overnight, the chance of some showers and storms will roll in from the northwest.
Sunday looks like an unsettled day with showers and storms at times, and those chances will extend into Monday as well. Some of those storms could wind up being severe.
Drier weather should return as we head into the middle of next week.
If you are heading to the beach for the weekend, the weather should be warm and dry tomorrow, but some showers and storms are possible Sunday and Monday. Up in the mountains, a few storms are possible tomorrow afternoon and evening with good chances for some showers and storms Sunday and Monday.
Enjoy the Fourth!
