Flag sales are peaking with the Fourth of July weekend. Companies that sell flags say they’ve taken a hit because of the economy, but now they’re capitalizing on the patriotic holiday.

"Bearded Bank Robber" hits 11th bank in 3 years

The FBI said the "Bearded Bank Robber" has struck again, and agents have new information about him. He hit a Bank of Granite in the Morrison Shopping Center on Sharon Road just before 9:30 Friday morning.

Teen in serious condition after being shot in face

Police say a teen was shot in the face Thursday night during a break-in in Gastonia. Investigators said three men broke into a home on Fourth Street and taped up a 15-year-old and 16-year-old, and shot the 16-year-old in the face.

2 arrested after Cabarrus County teen shot in chest

Two suspects were charged with a shooting in Cabarrus County. The 15-year-old victim called 911 and said he had been shot in the chest at his home in Harrisburg, N.C. The victim was taken to the hospital.
