Man charged in child's rape, murder appears in court

The man accused of raping and murdering 5-year-old Shaniya Davis made his first court appearance Friday. Mario McNeill was charged Thursday with first-degree murder and first-degree rape in the case.

High Point police charged a fourth teenager Friday with attempted murder in connection with a shooting that wounded a convenience store clerk at the Skeet Club Grocery Store.
