N.C. State football player charged with assault, suspended

N.C. State University football coach Tom O'Brien has suspended 20-year-old Justin Sweezy indefinitely after Sweezy was accused of beating up a shuttle bus driver. Police say Sweezy, of Mooresville, is charged with misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor larceny.

Officials are investigating after firefighters found two bodies in a burned home in Chapel Hill. Authorities say a duplex apartment complex on Legion Road was heavily engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived around 10 p.m. Friday.

Former Wilson County middle school principal Ronald Earl Barringer, 41, is expected in court Monday to face child sex charges. The North Carolina Court System Web site says Barringer is charged with third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
